Navy Recruiting Command Referral Recognition Program (NAVADMIN 044/99)

This NAVADMIN announces the requirements and procedures for awarding the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for all active and Navy Reserve personnel through the recruiting referral recognition program.

1. Eligibility: all active and Navy Reserve personnel who refer to an active duty recruiter four people who subsequently enter the naval service within 12 months are eligible for a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

2. Qualification process:

a. Call 1-800-USA-USNR. Provide the operator with the referral’s address or zip code, and the operator will give you the phone number of the recruiter located nearest to your referral.

b. Call that recruiter and specify that your call is a fleet referral through the Recruiting Referral Recognition Program.

c. Provide your name, rate, command’s address, and phone number and the name, address and phone number of the person you are referring.

d. The recruiter will contact your referral (s) with information on Navy opportunities.

3. All referrals that become new contracts (a person who actually enters the naval service) within 12 months of your referral (s) are cumulative and entitle you to one of the following awards:

One contract – Certificate of Appreciation from Navy Recruiting District Commanding Officer.
Two contracts – Honorary Recruiter Certificate from the Navy Recruiting District Commanding Officer.
Three contracts – Letter of Commendation from Commander, Navy Recruiting Command (flag officer) and lapel pin.
Four contracts - Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (NAM) from Commander, Navy Recruiting Command via the appropriate chain of command.
